My Time Living Near the Ocean & How It Inspired This Brand
There’s something about the ocean that changes you.
It’s not just the way it looks, it’s the feeling. Slower mornings, salt in your hair, the kind of days that don’t need a plan. Time feels different near the water, and once you experience it, it’s hard not to carry that with you everywhere.
For me, that feeling became the foundation of SolSearch the Label.
Where It Started
Part of this story began when I attended the University of Hawai‘i at Mānoa on O‘ahu during my sophomore year of college.
Living there, surrounded by the ocean every day, shifted something in me. Life felt slower, more intentional, and deeply connected to nature. My days revolved around the water, early mornings, long beach afternoons, and sunsets that never felt rushed.
Everything became simpler. I found myself reaching for pieces that felt easy, comfortable, and natural. Nothing overcomplicated, nothing fussy, just things I could throw on and feel good in, whether I was heading to the beach, walking around town, or staying out until sunset.
That mindset stayed with me long after I left.

When I started SolSearch, I didn’t just want to design bikinis, I wanted to recreate that feeling.
